**100 HP. This is a nice amount. You can't really ask for much more, except for another 20. :-p Gold Berry will almost always work, and just like most other cards, Focus Band isn't a bad choice either. ;) You've got enough HP to last quite some time.

**Bottom Stats. Water Weakness is not a fun thing. If you should come across an E-1 Feraligatr, you're gone. Since most Water Pokemon deal 50 or more damage, you're totally screwed given one comes up. As far as Resistance goes, Typhlosion has none. -_- So, we move on to Retreat... It only takes (*)(*) to retreat, which isn't all that bad as compared to some other Stage 2s. It's still not the greatest thing, so you probably should use a Switch, but if you should ever have to pay it, it won't be the end of the world.

**Evolves from Quilava (Stage 2). You really have a lot of choices here... There are 20 variations on evolving to this Typhlosion... @_@ I'll start with Cyndaquil, of which there are five. You can pick from these: Neo1- Lv. 14
, Neo1- Lv. 21, Neo4,  and #104 & 105 in E1. Ever since the original Typhlosion was released, the Cyndaquil of choice is the Neo1 Lv. 21. It's got 50 HP, and can deal 20 for (R). Not complaining- if it works, keep it. :) Next, there's Quilava... There's Neo1- Lv. 28, Neo1- Lv. 35, and E1. Either the Lv. 35 or the E1 are good choices. I'd lean towards the Lv. 35, only because you could Char the Defending Pokemon, then evolve to Typhlosion and then Burn it too! (You could also just use Breeder instead of Quilava, but you're better actually evolving.)

**Poke-Power: Heat Up. Long story short: If you've got less total Energy than your opponent, you can get one from your deck and attach it to a Benched Pokemon. This can be good, if you're behind, but if you're ahead, it does nothing. I like this better than the Neo1's Power. If you're behind in the count, you definitely get an Energy. If you're ahead, you've already got an advantage. Either way, it's good. With the Neo1 one, you have to depend on a flip. Since this Power only works to attach an Energy to a Benched Pokemon, try to keep Typhlosion Benched so that its Power can attach Energy to itself. ;) Use this every turn that you can, because once your opponent falls behind in Energy, you can't use this anymore.

** (R)(R)(*)(*) Super Singe  50. For the amount of Energy you have to put into it, just the 50 damage is ok. You also get a chance at Burning the Defending Pokemon. Even though Burn isn't as good as some of the other Special Conditions, it still could deal some damage, even when it's not your turn. If your opponent doesn't retreat or use a Switch, that Pokemon will have Burn for a while, and it could cause some nice damage.

COMBO CARDS:

~Magcargo. You can take some Energy you get via the Poke-Power and use it for Magcargo! Then, you can play around with it from there, and so on.

~Typhlosion (Neo1). You could make your deck run both the Neo1 version and this, and you could use the Powers to help each other. Since it's the same evolution line, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

RATINGS:
Standard. There is a nice amount of power on this card, but taking 4 Energy to deal 50 damage and a possibly Special Condition isn't always up to what it should be for this format. 5.5/10. (If you want a great Standard Fire card for 4 Energy, use Base Charizard! (I AM serious...my old Charizard deck was awesome...))
Modified. Now it can be much better, as evolutions usually work better here. Not much I can say about this though.  7.5/10.

TRIVIA answer from Strength Charm.
No, attaching a Strength Charm to a Sabrina's Kadabra would not KO the Defending Pokemon. Life Drain doesn't deal damage, but instead, places damage counters.

TRIVIA for Typhlosion.
How many different cards have been made that have Typhlosion in their name? (English cards.)
